  1. Start Audacity
  2. Must set input method so that it says "Line In" up at the top. If it says microphone you'll have to change it somewhere in preferences.
  3. Plug split end of cord into the "Rec" jacks of the tape section of input/outputs on the back of the 6700. Plug other end of cord into the input jack of your Macbook (not the headphone one.)
  4. Clean needle and record and make sure it's spinning right speed if you want.
  5. Check input level.
    • Set input volume slider to about 4. You can experiment and modulate this.
    • Hit "Record" in Audacity and start the record; pick one of the louder songs.
    • Check to see that level is not maxing out and that both channels are recording.
    • Stop this and delete it by hitting the "X".
  6. Press "Record" and start the record.
  7. When side or song finishes press "Stop".
  8. Remove silence and crap at beginning by highlighting and pressing "Cut" aka the scissors.
  9. Export
    • Highlight first track all the way up to beginning of the next track.
    • Chose "Export Selection" from File menu.
    • Choose "MP3 Files".
    • Select "Options..." and choose "Preset", "Standard, ...", "Standard", "Joint Stereo". See [1] for more information.
    • Give file name and select save location.
    • Don't bother with the meta data.
    • Press "Cut" and then repeat for next track.
  10. Import files into iTunes and rename etc.
